Emily Brown
I am a 27 year old woman, 4 years into my career as an interior designer. I have experience carrying jobs from the initial site visit with the client, establishing a brief and surveying the proposed property, through to the design process including collaborating with the client to hone the space plan, furniture specification and finishes and then attending weekly site visits with the subcontractors and clients up until practical completion. Of course, we know the job doesn’t always end there. If the client has any issues or additions they would like to make, I have the skill set to project manage any small works.
As a designer, I have always taken on the responsibility of specifying all new furniture and designing around any existing furniture. I have lead many showroom tours so they can try out the furniture themselves. I will then collate the furniture quotes and put them into a furniture schedule for the client to approve. More and more client’s are wanting to reuse some of their existing furniture so another element of an office move I will manage is the move management.
Whenever needed, I have never been afraid to step up and help other departments, whether that be by arranging site visits, collating quotes from subcontractors or occasionally putting together small works cost plans and project managing them once they have been approved.
I embrace a fast-paced environment where I can maximise my potential and am quick thinking when issues arise. I am incredibly confident and adaptable as I learn new skills quickly.
